History of the site
The name “Annandale” pays tribute to the Scottish heritage of the previous landowner.
Within the bounds of Annandale, The gentle Johnstones ride; They have been there a thousand years, A thousand more they'll bide.
— Old Ballad
Annandale land curves along the banks of the Merrimack River with soil that was farmed and strawberries cultivated to
perhaps be used in the annual strawberry festivals that Litchfield became famous across New Hampshire. Our home-styles, the “Blakemore” and the “Chandler” and the new 1200 sq. ft. Annapolis represent three fine varieties of strawberries.
Town of Litchfield
The Town of Litchfield enjoys a strong agricultural heritage with many working farms along the Merrimack River. Over the past 10 years, Litchfield has grown into a desirable bedroom community due to its reasonable housing costs and its proximity to Massachusetts, Nashua and Manchester, New Hampshire. |
